Welcome
We are situated in rural Lancashire, nestled in the Lune Valley and the beautiful Forest of Bowland AONB. Just a short drive from the historic city of Lancaster and a stones throw from the world renowned Lake District National Park.
The campsite is located on a 180-acre site that is also home to The British Thoroughbred Retraining Centre - a charity that cares for and rehomes retired racehorses when their careers on the race track are over.
The experience at Whinney Hill Farm is more akin to wild camping. There is no electricity at the campsite, but there is a washing up area, two compost loos and two gas operated showers to make your stay a little comfier!
It is the perfect place to relax, unwind and escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Get lost in nature, spot some wildlife, or maybe do some star gazing!
